How to Get Published

The path to publication (demystified)

There’s no single author journey, but there is a predictable process. If you follow these steps, you avoid wasted months and common submission mistakes.

1

Finish the right thing

Fiction usually needs the full manuscript. Nonfiction often starts with a proposal and outline. Don’t submit an idea dressed as a book.

2

Make it submission-ready

Clean structure, clear claims, readable formatting. Remove filler. Replace generalities with specifics. Make every page earn its place.

3

Package the essentials

Hook/thesis, description, synopsis or outline, and a sample. Editors don’t guess. Give the materials that allow a real decision.

4

Submit & expect a real read

We evaluate fit, execution, and feasibility. If the project aligns with our editorial program, we’ll contact you for next steps.

What we publish (and what we don’t)

KPFTV Editions publishes books with substance. We welcome strong arguments and uncomfortable questions—provided they are argued responsibly.

We publish Editorial Fit
  • Serious fiction with a clear genre promise, disciplined pacing, and coherent series identity.
  • Evidence-based nonfiction: clear thesis, sources, and defensible reasoning.
  • Controversial ideas when the argument is rigorous and responsibly framed.
  • Projects with momentum potential: books that can build a catalog, not just a single spike.
We don’t publishNon-negotiable
  • ×Calls for violence or incitement.
  • ×Dehumanization, harassment, or doxxing.
  • ×Cheap provocation without evidence.
  • ×Fabricated claims presented as fact.

FAQ

Fast answers to the questions serious authors ask before submitting.

Do I need a literary agent to submit to KPFTV Editions?

No. KPFTV Editions accepts direct submissions through our author inquiry form. If you have an agent, that’s fine too—either path works.

What should I submit for fiction?

In most cases: a completed manuscript plus a synopsis (spoilers allowed). If your manuscript is not complete, submit only if your outline and sample chapters are exceptionally strong.

What should I submit for nonfiction?

Usually a proposal-style package: thesis, “why now,” outline/table of contents, and a sample chapter if available. If your claim depends on data or documents, mention your evidence base clearly.

How long should the synopsis or outline be?

Fiction synopsis: 1–2 pages is ideal. Nonfiction outline: a chapter list plus 1–2 paragraphs per chapter is strong and readable.

Do you accept previously published work?

Sometimes. If the book was previously self-published or released elsewhere, include links and clarify which rights are available (ebook/print/audio/translation).

Will you publish a controversial book?

We consider controversial projects when they are argued responsibly and supported by evidence. Controversy is not a substitute for substance.

Do you accept AI-assisted writing?

Transparency matters. We ask you to disclose whether AI was used and in what capacity. We evaluate the work on clarity, originality, and publishability.
